Introducing Solgar´s VM Prime For Women, the advanced multiple nutrient formula that is tailored to help address the specific needs of women going through the menopausal transition. Of particular concern to menopausal women is the management of symptoms, bone support and cardiovascular health. The formulation provides calcium and magnesium (calcium 300mg, magnesium 150mg) as citrates, which ensures that these minerals are easy to absorb and are utilised by those with compromised digestion. In addition to these minerals, VM Prime For Women provides Vitamins D3 and K2.
Recent research has highlighted the importance of vitamin K to calcium utilisation, with K2 emerging as having superior bioavailability to K1. Vitamin K2 helps promote the incorporation of calcium into the bone matrix, as well as preventing calcium being deposited in artery walls. Vitamin D3, the most bioavailable form ot vitamin D, helps with the uptake of calcium from the digestive system and promotes calcium resorption by the kidneys. These actions facilatate the maintenance of calcium levels in the blood and promote the transprotation of calcium into the bones.
Cardiovascular health is of particular concern once a woman reachces the menopause. VM Prime For Women includes B6, B12 and folic acid, which may help lower homocysteine levels in the blood, thereby supporting cardiovascular health. VM Prime For Women provides soy isoflavones to further support bone health as well as aiding to lessen certain menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes. The addition of 400iu of vitamin E further supports the management of menopausal symptoms.
Once menstruation ceases, a wonam´s need for supplemental iron diminishes, therefore VM Prime For Women is an iron-free fourmua. Solgar´s Formula VM Prime For Women tablets are free of yeast, wheat, gluten and dairy products and are formulated without the use of artificial preservatives or flavours.
